Dobbs, who was announced as the Browns’ QB2 by Kevin Stefanski just hours before the trade, will now head to the Cardinals to compete for a starting job with Colt McCoy and Clayton Tune with less than three weeks to go until their Week 1 matchup against the Commanders. Dobbs played under Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing during his first stint in Cleveland and could benefit from that familiarity. Regardless of who wins the starting job for the Cardinals, they’ll only be worth a fantasy spot for the most desperate of teams — which is putting it nicely. In other news, Browns rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson looks like the new backup to Deshaun Watson, and Kellen Mond, who was waived earlier in the day, has been removed from waivers and will remain with the Browns.

Rapoport reports Jeudy’s injury as a “moderate hamstring injury” that puts his Week 1 status in jeopardy. However, he also said there’s “optimism it’s nothing long term” in regards to any season-long concerns over his injury. With Jeudy now sidelined for the foreseeable future, Courtland Sutton and rookie receiver Marvin Mims have a chance to step up to fill the void left by Denver’s WR1. Mims and Sutton will most likely serve as the Broncos’ two outside receivers, while legendary COVID-QB. Kendall Hinton replaces Jeudy in the slot. Jeudy’s status will be one to monitor in the coming weeks.

McLaurin’s sprained toe is “typically a multiple-week injury,” as Schefter points out. By the time Week 1 rolls around, McLaurin will have been 19 days removed from his injury, which puts him at the back end for the two to three-week timetable that was suggested earlier this week. If McLaurin is unable to go in Week 1, Jahan Dotson would have some high-end WR2 upside against a Cardinals defense that figures to rank near the bottom of the league.

Rodrigue believes the Rams will deploy both Williams and Cam Akers early in the season but thinks Williams could have a chance to emerge as a valuable threat in the passing game. Matthew Stafford reportedly looked more comfortable with Williams as camp progressed, which could open the door for more of a committee approach for Akers and Williams in 2023. Williams’ early-season usage could be difficult to predict, but he’ll be a player to monitor once the season officially kicks off.

According to Popper, Allen’s target volume is more than a result of his rapport with Justin Herbert. As he points out in his article, offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has moved Allen and the rest of the receivers all around the formations, with Mike Williams lining up more often in the slot. Regardless of where he’s lined up, Allen has benefitted from the change in formations as defenses struggled to adjust to where the players are ahead of the snap. Allen will likely play primarily from the slot in 2023, as he’s done for most of his career, but these changes in roles could allow the Chargers to exploit more mismatches for their No. 1 target hog.

Adams’ 2022 was lost to a torn quadriceps that he suffered in Week 1. Since being acquired from the Jets in 2020, Adams has appeared in 25 of a possible 50 games, as he’s battled a number of injuries in recent years. When healthy, Adams is among the league’s best safeties, proving to be a force in pass coverage and against the run. He and Bobby Wagner will look to form a formidable unit and improve on last year’s defense that allowed the seventh most yards and eighth most points per game last season.

Drafted by the Cardinals in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Jones started 11 games for the Cardinals last season and has started 21 of 47 games in his career. Jones is in the final year of his rookie deal and could serve as added depth behind tackles Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard. Jones earned a PFF grade of 75.8 as a blocker last season.
